Construction Begins at Mixed-Use Development Just Off Historic Marietta Square
- Meeting Park maintains Marietta’s hometown feel while enhancing the city’s village heart -
MARIETTA, Ga. (Nov. 14, 2006) – Winter Properties will soon break ground on Meeting Park, a mixed-use community just off the historic Marietta Square. The $112 million development will encompass over 12 acres between Roswell Street and Waterman Street, which was once the site of Clay Homes, a 132-unit housing complex built for employees of the Bell Bomber plant during World War II.
The community will consist of 159 residential condominiums units, ranging from 900 to 1,600 square feet; 131 townhomes, ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 square feet; and 9 single-family residences, ranging from 2,500 to 3,000 square feet. There will also be 78,000 square feet of retail and office space, a central neighborhood park and additional green space. Homes will range from the low $200’s to the $600’s.
“We have long admired Marietta for its community ambiance, rich history, and small-town charm,” said Bill Marsh, Vice President of Winter Properties. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to create a neighborhood that knits back into the existing fabric of this community. Our team worked closely with planners, designers, local residents, and civic leaders to envision a very special place with a vibrant center that also stays true to Marietta’s hometown feel. We want to offer residents a ‘village heart’ with ‘Marietta soul.’”
Meeting Park will feature:
“This will be walkable live, work, play environment, ideal for those who are seeking a sense of community with urban components but who don’t want to live in the greater density of Midtown or Downtown,” said Carl Meinhardt, Vice President of Design at Winter Properties. “Meeting Park residents will enjoy a new close-knit neighborhood community and lower Cobb County taxes.”
The first phase, slated to be complete in Fall 2008, will include 70 condominiums, 32 townhouses and 7,600 square feet of retail space. The entire community is slated to be complete late 2009.
Sales and marketing will be provided by Coldwell Banker The Condo Store, the market leader in the sales and marketing of condominiums, lofts, luxury high-rises and cluster and town homes.
